An Eternal Perspective Changes Everything

"We may ‘believe’ in eternity, but to what extent have we actually agreed with the world that eternity is not relevant until after this life? Eternity is not merely a time frame that is endless; it is profoundly and foremost a qualitative thing that is available now. When we begin to see all our moments set in the context of eternity, we will bring to those moments a seriousness that we would not otherwise have had." Art KatzWhat will I do this year or even this next month? How will my family…See More

Hearts on Fire in Prayer for the Lost

“Christ’s power to save, and save completely, depends on His unceasing intercession. The apostles’ withdrawal of themselves from other work to give themselves continually to prayer was followed by the number of the disciples multiplying exceedingly. As we, in our day, give ourselves to intercession, we will have more and mightier conversions. Let us plead for this.” Andrew MurrayHow can you and I have our hearts on fire in prayer for the lost? A strategic way is to know our Coach and our…See More

Fire in the Night In Your City

“Your city is God’s city. The people are made in His image. Satan is an invader and a usurper operating in our territory. God did not give demons authority over your city. Demons have infested the earth’s atmosphere since before the creation of mankind, but they can only extend their authority into a town or an institution when people sin. When you look into the history of your city, you will find clues as to what is oppressing the people today. This is our planet, and the only authority Satan…See More

Healing Our Wounded Hearts

“The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). I doubt if very many of God’s people wake up in the morning with the amazing thought, “I am made in God’s image!” Instead quite the opposite often occurs—many feel down about themselves with feelings of insecurity, insignificance, and a lack of self worth. If we want the freedom to pray wholeheartedly, we must understand some of the things that are hindering our wholeheartedness in prayer. When…See More

Pouring Out Your Heart in Lament to God

Posted on September 19, 2014 at 5:40pm 0 Comments

“It seems to me that we do not need to be taught how to lament since we have so many models in Scripture. What we need is simply the assurance that it’s okay to lament. We all carry deep within ourselves a pressurized reservoir of tears. It takes only the right key at the right time to unlock them. In God’s perfect time, these tears can be released to form a healing flood. That’s the beauty and the mystery of the prayer of lament.” Michael…

Debbie, we enjoyed playing it in yesterday's playloop at IndyChristian.TV (a gadget which plays at a number of sites now). Here's a briefly-archived (so hurry) version... http://livestre.am/dBLx

Thanks for your work here -- there's power in connected prayer. Here in Indy, we're getting ready to test (Friday) our very first 'Community Prayer Siren' text-alert system. If it works here, it can easily be replicated in any city... for free. You'd be welcome to participate... visit http://Twitter.com/IndyPrayer... we'd make you an honorary Hoosier *wink*
